Privacy Policy for Echo

This Privacy Policy explains how Echo (“Echo”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use the Echo mobile application (the “App”) and related services. Echo is a location-based application built for the Solana Seeker device that lets users discover and claim location-bound content and token rewards (“Echos”) on the Solana blockchain.

By using the App, you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Who we are

2. Information we process

Location data. The App uses your device’s location to determine whether you are near an Echo and to let you claim location-bound content. Your precise location is processed on your device to compute proximity. Echo coordinates stored on the Solana blockchain are encrypted; your personal real-time location is not published on-chain and is not stored on our servers in identifiable form.

Wallet and blockchain data. When you connect a Solana wallet, the App reads your public wallet address and on-chain token holdings (including the Seeker Genesis Token used for access gating) to determine eligibility to view and claim Echos. Blockchain transactions you make (such as claiming an Echo) are recorded on the public Solana blockchain and are, by the nature of public blockchains, permanent and publicly visible. We do not control and cannot delete on-chain data.

Content you create or upload. If you create an Echo or upload content (such as a photo), that content and its associated location are stored via decentralized storage (IPFS) and/or on-chain, and may be publicly accessible.

Technical and diagnostic data. To operate and improve the App, we process limited technical information such as app version, device type, operating system version, and error reports. Production builds of the App include a third-party crash- and error-reporting service (Sentry), which collects diagnostic data such as crash logs and basic device and app information so we can detect and fix problems. We use this information solely to diagnose and improve the App’s reliability.

We do not collect your name, email (unless you contact us), contacts, or other personal identifiers beyond what is described above.

3. How we use information

We use the information above to: determine your proximity to Echos and enable claiming; verify access eligibility (e.g. Seeker Genesis Token holding); display and store user-created content; operate, maintain, secure, and improve the App; comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal bases (where GDPR applies)

Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation applies, we process data on the basis of: your consent (e.g. for location access, which you can grant or revoke in device settings); performance of the service you request; and our legitimate interest in operating and securing the App.

5. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Information may be processed by infrastructure providers we use to operate the App, including: Solana blockchain / RPC providers (transaction and account data); decentralized storage (IPFS / Pinata) for content and assets; map providers (Google Maps) to render the map interface; and a crash- and error-reporting provider (Sentry) for diagnostic data from production builds. For security and reliability, summaries of public on-chain activity involving the App’s smart contract — including public wallet addresses and transaction signatures, which are already public on the blockchain — may be relayed to an internal monitoring and alerting channel (e.g. Telegram). Data recorded on the public blockchain or public decentralized storage is inherently public and outside our control.

6. Your choices and rights

You can grant or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings. Without location access, core features will not work. You control which wallet you connect and can disconnect it. Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g. EU/EEA, California), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. To exercise these, contact us at the email above. Note that data on the public blockchain cannot be altered or deleted by us.

7. Age requirement

The App is intended only for users who are at least 18 years old. The App is not directed to minors, and we do not knowingly process the data of anyone under 18. Because the App involves digital token rewards, access is restricted to adults.

8. Security

We apply reasonable technical measures to protect information we handle. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, and public blockchain data is permanently public by design.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
